IDEAS-LAAS, the social action center of the Madurai Province, was actively engaged in creating awareness among the people about the Corona Pandemic and its global impact. They spread awareness through social media to about 8,000 people and also through the local community radio Nammakural (Our Voice) in various southern districts of Tamil Nadu, India. They insisted on using masks and hand sanitizers in order to be safe from being infected. Particularly, they took up the cause of sanitary workers and voiced their concerns to the local authorities and made sure that necessary action was taken to provide the needed protection gear to all sanitary workers.
COVID-19 isn't gone yet...
but our 244 online initiatives have grown into successful independent projects and so many new have been established following the example. We're unable to track all of them, so we've decided to turn this page into an archive and invite you to check the updated options at the local Jesuits' sites.
