@myConversation Hour was initiated to meet the yearning of the faithful who miss the experience of participating in Church services and activities and, meeting one another as a community and with their priests. It’s a concrete collaborative effort to share resourceful thoughts and encouraging words. Since it is a collaborative effort by a group of Catholics from a diversity of backgrounds, including Fr Alberto Irenus David SJ, a conversational mode of presentation was thought to be more appealing.
@myConversation Hour is based on the Ignatian Spiritual Conversation model. The flow of the conversation begins with a brief interlude of music and prayer before engaging the three rounds of spiritual conversation. The first round starts from an experience, then moves into seeing it through sacred scripture or the words of Jesus in the second round. The third round is to affirm one another’s insight or words resonating the topic of conversation. The hour ends with a prayer. The mode of conversation nurtures a concrete, experience-based, sharing which hopefully, would deepen the faith experience of participants.
Hopefully, the Conversation Hour platform can nourish communication at a safe distance so that the Catholic community can stay connected, and continue growing as a community and deepening in faith, by sharing the everyday experiences of concerns throughout this time of social distancing.
@myconversation hour is available in English and Mandarin. Conversations are held on Fridays (English) and Saturdays (Mandarin) weekly from 8.30pm to 9.30pm (Malaysia time).
